The FunCakes Mix for Sponge Cake Deluxe is the perfect base for a tall and fluffy sponge with a professional bakery texture. Also known as a genoise base, this mix is ideal for whipped cream cakes, marzipan cakes or fondant-covered cakes. The result is a light, even cake that you can decorate any way you like.
Simply add eggs and water, whip the batter and bake a delicious sponge layer that’s soft and airy. A reliable mix for all your cake creations.

Tip: enhance the flavour with lemon zest or flavouring of your choice.
Preheat the oven to 175°C (convection oven 160°C). Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature. Mix the mix, eggs and water in a bowl. Beat the batter for 7 to 8 minutes on high speed and then 2 to 3 minutes on low speed. Grease a baking tin and fill it halfway to two thirds full. Bake the sponge cake in the centre of the oven. Do not open the oven during baking. The sponge cake is ready when it feels springy to the touch. Remove from the tin immediately and allow to cool on a wire rack.
Sugar, wheat flour, wheat starch, emulsifier: E472b (palm, rapeseed), E477 (palm), raising agent: E500, E341, E450, E336, E575, glucose syrup (dried), milk powder (skimmed), salt, flavouring, thickener: E415.
